The 2008 Toyota 4Runner Vehicle is available with a choice of two engines. The standard Toyota 4Runner engine is a 4.0-liter V-6 with variable valve timing (VVTi). This engine produces up to 236 HP (at) 5,200 RPM and up to 206 lb-ft of torque (at) 4,000 RPM, and 4Runners so equipped have a fuel efficiency rating of 13.5L/100km in the city and 10.2L/100km on the highway. A 4.7-liter V-8 engine equipped with VVTi is optional. This engine produces up to 260 HP (at) 5,400 RPM and up to 306 lb-ft of torque (at) 3,400 RPM, and gives a fuel efficiency rating of 14.6L/100km in the city and 11.3L/100km on the highway. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox. The fuel tank capacity is 23.0 gallons for all the models. One will not be disappointed with the Toyota 4Runner gas mileage.
